Day 1: Arusha
Your adventure begins as you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be warmly greeted by our local representative. After a brief meet and greet, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Arusha, a vibrant city nestled at the foot of Mount Meru. This picturesque setting serves as the perfect introduction to the natural beauty and cultural richness of Tanzania. Upon arrival, you’ll check into the serene Moivaro Lodge, a charming retreat surrounded by lush gardens. Day 2: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a hearty breakfast at Moivaro Lodge, you’ll set off for Karatu, a charming town on the edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes you through the heart of Tanzania’s stunning landscapes, with rolling hills, vibrant coffee plantations, and glimpses of local village life. This journey offers a fantastic opportunity to witness the diverse scenery and get a sense of the country’s rich agricultural heritage. Upon arrival in Karatu, you’ll check into the welcoming Karatu Simba Lodge, your home for the next two nights.
Karatu Simba Lodge provides a perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty, with spacious rooms, excellent service, and panoramic views of the surrounding highlands. Spend the afternoon exploring the lodge’s grounds or relax by the pool. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner made from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Rise early for an unforgettable full-day tour of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders. After breakfast at Karatu Simba Lodge, you’ll head towards the crater, descending into this vast, caldera-shaped sanctuary that is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife. As you explore the crater floor, you’ll have the chance to spot the “Big Five” – lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceros – along with a myriad of other animals such as zebras, wildebeests, and flamingos. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the breathtaking scenery, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild. Day 4: Olduvai Gorge / Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at Karatu Simba Lodge, you’ll embark on an exciting drive to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. En route, you’ll visit Olduvai Gorge, a significant archaeological site often referred to as the “Cradle of Mankind.” Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the museum and learn about the pioneering discoveries of early human fossils made by the Leakey family, which have provided profound insights into our evolutionary history. The visit to Olduvai Gorge offers a fascinating glimpse into the distant past and the early beginnings of human life.
Continuing your journey, you’ll arrive at Kisura Camp in the Serengeti, your base for the next three nights. Nestled in the heart of the park, Kisura Camp offers an intimate and immersive safari experience with luxurious tented accommodations and spectacular views of the surrounding savannah. After settling in, take some time to relax and enjoy the camp’s amenities. Days 5 & 6: Serengeti National Park
Immerse yourself in the wonders of the Serengeti National Park with two full days dedicated to thrilling game drives. Each morning, you’ll set out from Kisura Camp after a hearty breakfast, venturing into the vast plains that host one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife on earth. Your expert guide will navigate the diverse landscapes, from sweeping grasslands to acacia-dotted savannahs, in search of the Serengeti’s iconic inhabitants. Witness the majestic spectacle of lions lounging under the shade, cheetahs sprinting across the plains, and elephants moving in herds through the bush.
The afternoon game drives continue to offer unparalleled opportunities for wildlife viewing, perhaps catching a glimpse of the elusive leopard or marvelling at the vast herds of wildebeest and zebras during their great migration. As the sun begins to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and red, you’ll return to Kisura Camp. Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park
After a final breakfast at Kisura Camp, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to the Luxury Escarpment Lodge, perched on the edge of the Great Rift Valley with stunning views over Lake Manyara. This elegant lodge offers luxurious accommodations and an exceptional vantage point for observing the diverse landscapes below. Upon arrival, you’ll have some time to settle in and appreciate the lodge’s exquisite amenities before heading out for an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 9: Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, embark on exhilarating game drives across the park’s expansive savannahs and acacia woodlands. Amboseli is renowned for its large elephant herds, providing excellent opportunities to observe these majestic creatures up close as they roam freely against the backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain.
Pause midday for a picnic lunch in a scenic spot, surrounded by the park’s natural beauty and wildlife. After lunch, continue your safari adventure, seeking out other resident species such as lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and buffalo. The park is also a haven for birdwatchers, with over 400 bird species recorded here, including numerous water birds attracted to the seasonal swamps and lakes. Day 10: Lake Nakuru

Arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its vibrant birdlife and rhinoceros sanctuary, you’ll check into Ziwa Bush Camp, a tranquil retreat nestled in the heart of the park.
After settling in and enjoying lunch at the camp, venture out on an afternoon game drive. Explore the shores of Lake Nakuru, where thousands of flamingos create a striking pink hue against the lake’s waters. Keep an eye out for the park’s resident wildlife, including buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and both black and white rhinos. Day 11: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Today marks your journey to the world-renowned Masai Mara, an iconic destination for wildlife enthusiasts. After breakfast at Ziwa Bush Camp, depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, traversing through picturesque landscapes and local villages along the way. Upon arrival at Zebra Plains Camp, a luxury tented camp situated in the heart of the Mara, you’ll be greeted with warm hospitality and breathtaking views of the savannah.
After settling into your tented accommodation, enjoy a delicious lunch at the camp before embarking on an afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is famed for its abundance of wildlife, including the Big Five and the spectacular annual wildebeest migration. Days 12 & 13: Masai Mara Game Reserve
These two days are dedicated to immersing yourself fully in the wonders of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Each morning, after a hearty breakfast at Zebra Plains Camp, embark on thrilling game drives across the Mara’s expansive plains and riverine forests. The Masai Mara is renowned for its exceptional wildlife sightings, offering opportunities to witness the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceros – along with a plethora of other species in their natural habitats.
Throughout the day, your expert guide will lead you to strategic locations where you can observe wildlife behaviour up close, whether it’s watching a lioness stalking her prey or witnessing the spectacle of thousands of wildebeest crossing the Mara River during the annual migration.
Day 14: Nairobi
After breakfast at Zebra Plains Camp, bid farewell to the majestic Masai Mara as you embark on your journey back to Nairobi. The drive takes you through the rolling hills and scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley, offering one last opportunity to soak in the natural beauty and reflect on the incredible wildlife experiences of the past days.
Upon arrival in Nairobi, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation or directly to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you’ll catch your onward flight. This marks the end of your “Highlights of Kenya & Tanzania” safari adventure, filled with unforgettable moments, wildlife sightings, and cultural encounters that have left an indelible mark on your journey through East Africa.
