Days 1-3: Kafunta River Lodge
Depart Lusaka on your Flight to Mfuwe. On arrival met and transferred to Kafunta River Lodge. Kafunta River Lodge offers a classic safari experience with comfortable accommodations and excellent game viewing opportunities. Its location near the Luangwa River provides great sightings of wildlife, especially during the dry season when animals congregate around water sources. The chalets are spacious and well-appointed, offering a blend of rustic charm and modern amenities. You can relax on your private veranda and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Spending three nights at Kafunta River Lodge is a fantastic choice for immersing yourself in the wildlife and beauty of South Luangwa National Park. Here’s what you can expect during your stay:
- Game Drives: Kafunta River Lodge offers morning and evening game drives led by experienced guides. These drives are excellent opportunities to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, hippos, lions, leopards, and numerous antelope species. The park’s diverse habitats provide rich opportunities for wildlife sightings.

Days 4-5: Three Rivers Camp
Transfer from Kafunta River Lodge to Three Rivers Camp for two nights.
Three Rivers Camp, offers a more intimate and exclusive experience. Situated at the confluence of three rivers, this camp offers stunning views and a serene atmosphere. With only five luxury tents, you’ll have a more personalized safari experience and the chance to explore the wilderness in a quieter setting.
The camp’s spacious tents are elegantly furnished and designed to provide maximum comfort while immersing you in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. Each tent features en-suite facilities and a private veranda overlooking the surrounding bush veld or the confluence of the Luangwa, Kapamba, and Lusangazi rivers.
Explore South Luangwa National Park on game drives led by experienced guides. These drives offer excellent opportunities to encounter a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and more. The park is renowned for its high density of predators and large herds of herbivores, providing thrilling wildlife sightings. Day 6: Mfuwe to Lusaka
